This study was to investigate the impact of teenage pregnancy in faith-based schools as compared to non-faith-based schools: a comparative study of selected secondary schools in Ndola District in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. The objectives that guided the study were to find out the causes of teenage pregnancy in faith-based schools as compared to non-faith-based schools in selected schools of Ndola District and to assess the effects of teenage pregnancy in faith-based schools as compared to non-faith-based schools in selected schools of Ndola District.And to recommend and find out strategies put in place to reduce teenage pregnancy in selected faith-based schools in Ndola District.
A quantitative and qualitative descriptive research design was employed in this study. Based on the findings, the study found that teenage pregnancy has a number of effects, which include pupil absenteeism, dropping out, and other negative effects. The study recommended that great sensitisation and sex education should be encouraged in both faith-based and non-faith-based schools.
