Admission Requiremnts

 

DIPLOMA IN REGISTERED NURSING

 

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The programme duration is three (3) years for direct entry students and two (2) years for in-service conversion programme students who will enter the programme at 2nd year.

   ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The minimum entry requirements for school leavers into this programme shall be:

 Five (5) ‘0’ levels at credit level or better of the Zambian General Certificate of Education or its equivalent as follows:

  1. Three (3) ‘0’ level compulsory subjects in
  1. English language
  2. Mathematics and
  3. Any science subject 
  1. Any two (2) subjects
  2. Minimum entry age shall be 16 years
  3. All candidates should pass both personal interviews and written test.

 

 

The minimum entry requirement for the in service candidates into this programme shall be:

Five (5) ‘0’ levels at credit level or better of the Zambian General Certificate of Education or its equivalent as follows:

  1. Three (3) ‘0’ level compulsory subjects in
  1. English language
  1. Mathematics and
  2. Any science subject 
  1. Any two (2) subjects
  2. Minimum of two (2) years working experience.
  3. All candidates should pass both personal interviews and written test.

 

  PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS

A candidate shall progress from one level of study to another following the provided progression guidelines below:-

  1. A student who passes all the five half courses at first six months of training shall proceed to the second six months.
  2. A student who fails any course with a minimum of a ‘D’ at any level of training shall be given an opportunity to sit for a supplementary examination two weeks after the publication of the results of the internal examinations.

 

DIPLOMA IN CLINICAL MEDICAL SCIENCES GENERAL

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The programme duration is three (3) years .

Entry Requirements
Direct Entry
To qualify for admission for Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences General programme, a
candidate must be a holder of a full Zambian School Certificate of Education or equivalent with
five subjects passed at credit level or better.
 Four of the subjects must be English Language, Mathematics, Biology and
Science/Chemistry/Physics
 One subject from the following list:
 Literature in English
 Religious Education
 Geography
 History
 Agriculture Science
 Zambian Languages
 Civic Education
 Nutrition
 Minimum age of 17 years
Certificate Holders
To be admitted in the Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences General Programme, the candidate
must possess the following:
 Five subjects passed at credit level or better, four of which must be English Language,
Mathematics, Biology and Science/Chemistry/Physics
 Certificate/diploma in a health-related programme(s)
Registration certificate and a valid practicing certificate from the Health Professions Council of
Zambia (HPCZ) or General Nursing Council (GNC) or Zambia Counselling Council (ZCC).
